| Video Discription | #Boeing #Airbus #Comparison In my opinion, Boeing is better than Airbus. Airbus aircraft cannot be taken out of their operating envelope. The computer will not let you bank the aircraft past a certain angle. Boeing aircraft can be operated outside of their operating envelope. If you need to bank the aircraft 55 degrees, it will let you as opposed to Airbus having the computer prevent you exceeding the maximum bank angle. Another reason I believe that Boeing is better than Airbus is because Boeing still has the control column, or flight yoke if you will. Airbus has the side stick like your playing a video game. While both manufacturers use fly-by-wire to move the controls, pilots who fly Boeing aircraft can still “feel” how the aircraft is handling on the flight yoke. Airbus does not allow for this “feel”. Boeing has a longer history and, therefore, more firsts than Airbus. The first successful jet airliner, mainly because Airbus wasn’t around back then. Boeing also produced the 747 in the late 1960s, again before airbus was around. Not saying that being first means you are the best. Boeing developed the 707 in the late 50s to early 60s. It was a highly successful aircraft. Douglas Aircraft came out with the DC8 that out performed the 707. It could fly farther, carry more passengers/loads while burning less fuel. Airbus has the luxury of being able to observe the market and get a feel for the need of airliners and develop new aircraft based on that data. |
