He was educated in Dubai at Rashid School for Boys and then attended Sandhurst Military Academy in the United Kingdom and graduated in 2002. Sheikh Rashid is a well-known sports figure in the UAE and around the Arab world and beyond. He has participated in a number of international and local endurance rides, winning a number of laurels for the country. His greatest achievement was winning a gold medal in the 2006 Doha Asian Olympics Endurance race in the individual results.
