| Video Discription | Continuing my cathartic musical homage to Zack Snyder’s DCEU vision, my next endeavour was to try and capture Cyborg’s importance in the grand scheme of the uniting of the Justice League, and how Zack said that he was the heart of his first Justice League movie. What first comes to mind when I think of young Victor Stone is the tragedy that befalls him: He dies in a terrible accident along with his mother. When he comes back to life, he is more than only grief stricken. He doesn’t want to be alive, especially because he doesn’t feel like himself anymore. He feels like some sort of monstrous entity, an alien mechanical Frankenstein that can see, hear and connect to everything. But that thread of humanity is still there (listen to the trumpet in the back, way up high). And what is one of the things he retains from said humanity? What he did in his former life: He was an athlete, a warrior. In other words, in essence, he’s a soldier (hence the marching field drums). So his journey becomes that of a special being coming to terms with his new existence. As he matures and grows in this journey, he reconnects with his true self, embraces his new existence, and like Superman before him… Soars into the air. To save the world, to save his father, to save his comrades… To save himself. Again, I dedicate this to Zack Snyder, Junkie XL, Hans Zimmer and a special shout out to Ray Fisher. For all DCEU fans!
