| Video Discription | In this video, we will look at how I imaged Messier 101 with my Orion ED80T telescope and ZWO 183 MC pro camera on the Skywatcher HEQ 5 mount. I M101 or the Pinwheel galaxy, as it is more commonly called, is a spiral galaxy located approx 21 million light-years away in the constellation Ursa Major. It contains approx 1 trillion stars and contains an unusually high number of HII regions. There does not appear to be a supermassive black hole at the center of this galaxy. Its asymmetrical shape indicates that it has had interactions with its smaller companion galaxies in the past. I will also show you a couple of the features that I like in the free astrophotography capture program NINA.
