King Cobras are the worlds longest venomous snakes with powerful jaws and large amounts of neurotoxic venom that is fatal if untreated, making it one of the most dangerous snakes in the world. They can grow up to 6m long! Although they can be very dangerous, they do not attack people. They are shy snakes that will make a swift escape if encountered, they only hood up if threatened. They feed mainly on other snakes such as rat snakes, and sometimes also eat lizards and other small animals. They occur throughout Southeast Asia and also some areas of India and China. They are rare throughout their range. |
