| Video Discription | Sydney was among the first major global cities to usher in the new year. A spectacular fireworks lit up up the iconic Harbour Bridge and Opera House. Famed for its annual light show, the Australian city said that this year's extravaganza, entitled "Shine", was its most expensive ever. A few hours later it was China's turn to celebrate. Colour and light filled the Shanghai skyline in a dazzling pyrotechnic show, followed by fireworks set off from barges in the water.
