The crash resulted in the death of 45-year-old Kaveri Nakhwa, who was dragged for over 2 kilometers by the car, and left her husband Pradip seriously injured. The victims were en route to sell fish when the accident occurred. CCTV footage accessed by India Today shows Mihir and his friends leaving a Juhu bar in a Mercedes hours before the collision, although the restaurant owner confirmed Mihir did not consume alcohol. Despite the severity of the charges—culpable homicide not amounting to murder and rash and negligent driving—Mihir Shah remains at large. His father, Rajesh Shah, and driver Rajrishi were initially arrested and later released on bail within a day, sparking public outrage and demands for justice.
