| Video Discription | In the hours after Hurricane Beryl made landfall on the island of Carriacou, a floating ocean drone intercepted the northern edge of the historically powerful storm in the violent Caribbean Sea. The uncrewed research vessel, dubbed a saildrone, crossed paths with Hurricane Beryl 100 nautical miles south of Puerto Rico on Tuesday morning, according to California-based data company Saildrone Inc. The drone was less than 100 nautical miles from the Category 5 storm’s eye. Dramatic footage documented by the drone shows waves towering over 25 feet tall, the same size of the saildrone if it was flipped vertically.
