According to one claim 1,800 candidates turned up for just 10 job vacancies at a private firm. In a viral video, a firm was seen holding interviews at a hotel. The hotel was unable to manage the crowd. It led to a stampede-like situation. This is not a one-off incident. Recently, UP Police announced 62 vacancies for the position of a peon. More than 90,000 candidates comprising PhD holders, post-graduates and graduates applied for the vacant position. These incidents hint at a job crisis in India. As per the Indian government data, 16 percent of the youth is jobless.
