The FBI is leading the investigation into the incident that it has called an assassination attempt. Trump was in the town of Butler, Pennsylvania, addressing a crowd at an open-air rally, when gunshots rang out. The Secret Service says the shooter opened fire from the roof of a nearby building. The suspect was less than 150 meters from the stage, on which Trump was speaking. One spectator was killed, with two others critically injured.
