| Video Discription | The Rajabai Clock Tower and University Library (RCT & UL) is a very special structure which has stood tall for over a century. The RCT & UL displays splendorous exhibits of Gothic Architecture carved in Porbandar Limestone and Yellow Basalt. The overwhelming sense that the architectural elements and ornaments of the building display has awestruck its visitors. The Phase - I focused on a holistic restoration while the Phase - II aimed at the illumination, to further enhance the grandeur by subtly lighting up the entire structure both internally and externally. The Mumbai University has always been significant in producing noted alumni. The restoration was funded by the Tata Consultancy, a prominent philanthropists group who always valued the importance of the heritage structures. The Convocation Hall within the Mumbai University Ensemble is another structure which was restored during the early 2000's. We are proud to convey that both the RCT & UL as well as the Convocation Hall,are a recipient of UNESCO Asia Pacific awards.Besides, both the buildings are a part of UNESCO'S World Heritage Victorian Gothic and Art Deco Ensembles of Mumbai.
