We were traveling from Florence to Rome so we stopped in Grosseto for a night and rented a car to go see the Dying City and Saturnia Hot springs. They are fairly close together. Saturnia was a terrible tourist trap! However, Civita di Bagnoregio made the trip worthwhile. In hind sight it would be much easier to take the day trip from Rome and skip Saturnia all together. Nestled atop a precipitous hill in the picturesque Italian region of Lazio, Civita di Bagnoregio emerges like a timeless jewel, earning its moniker as the "Dying Town." Linked to the mainland by a narrow pedestrian bridge, this enchanting village boasts a unique charm that captivates every visitor.
