| Video Discription | So the budget 2024 has finally come in and there has been a significant increase in the STT (Securities Transaction Taxes) along with LTCG & STCG Charges. All the charges are levied by the government and in this video we discuss all of that. First of all, levying both LTCG/STCG as well as STT does not make any sense as both taxes are levied by one single entity i.e. Government over a single segment of trade at any given point in time. This dual taxation in itself is wrong. But it seems the Budget declaration is seen as an opportunity to increase such taxes with the picture shown to the general public that this is being done to curb the options turnover. Furthermore, increase LTCG on long term investments has ZERO sense. Ideally, the government must make trading and investing in Stock Market for retail traders prgressively. But it seems this is going exactly in the opposite direction with the government making in excess of 30000 crores a year from STT.
