Blind Soccer is a sport that is played on a smaller pitch (40 meters), the goalies are sighted, and the other players have blocked out eye shades on in order to make the sport fair. The ball has a rattle in it, so athletes who can't see the ball are able yo hear the ball. The word "voy" is yelled if players are within 10 feet of the ball. And, that way, people know there's another person there and they're not being caught off guard. USABA recently received certification from the United States Olympics and Paralympic Committee to be able to govern this new sport. |
